THE AFTERMATH OF A MAJOR GROWTH SPURT

Apparently, our daughter had a major growth spurt this summer. We went to Virginia in May where she slept on an air mattress for three months. When we returned home last week, she no longer fit in her toddler bed. Almost every night this week we have found her sleeping in a heap on the floor because, while trying to stretch her legs and get comfortable, she would just tumble right out of that tiny bed. We knew that waiting until we were done with school (and she was five) until we got her a twin bed would be pushing it. But, seeing as how both our apartment and our bank account are tiny, we just didn't think we could make it work. It took some creative rearranging and planning for both, and I think the results are irresistible!

I love that the bed has a head board with shelves and three drawers underneath because it gives me some much needed extra storage space. The bedding isn't exactly the one I wanted but it is very similar to the much more expensive, even cuter version. Of course, now I think this tall, long-legged girl looks absolutely tiny in this giant bed!

And, speaking of giants:
I just couldn't resist putting in this picture of the most delicious baby in the world!

Very cute! Where did you get the cute bedding? I have a hard time finding girl bedding that I like, and that I can afford.

Sarita: I got the bedding (and bed) from Wal-Mart. The comforter, pillow sham, and bed skirt came together and were $40. (I'm not using the bedskirt b/c of the drawers under the bed). I just bought plain white sheets for $6 vs. about $20 for the set that matched the bedding. It was half the price of the set I was going to get at Target. And about a thousand dollars cheaper than the one I really wanted at Pottery Barn!

Kenz: I feel dumb leaving you comments since you live next door to me. So, I'll see you later and we can talk then. :)
