FAMILY HOME EVENING GONE HOPELESSLY AWRY

Every month for Family Home Evening, we spend some time discussing that month's Primary theme and scripture (as found in the Friend magazine). Side note: if you don't understand any of that first sentence, I'm sorry, I'm too tired to explain. Just click on the above link or the "Go To Church" link on my sidebar). Anyway, we missed the first few weeks of May, so last night we finally introduced the May theme to Lauren and Baker. It was actually quite timely and appropriate since Cameron was just born and Lauren and Brian both have their birthdays in May. The theme is:

"Heavenly Father Planned for Me to Come to a Family. I Can Strengthen My Family Now."

So, we had quite a lengthy discussion about families and their purposes and our specific purpose within our own family. The kids were really cute and quiet and were actually paying attention. We talked about how Heavenly Father sent Cameron to our family for a reason and we all have some important part to play in each other's lives. Lauren asked some very good, thought-provoking questions. It was a good evening together. And then, as I was wrapping some things up, Baker popped up with this gem of a too-doctrinally-deep-for-me question:

"And, Jesus played ping-pong, Mommy?"

And that was the end of Family Home Evening.

Your kids always have the best quotes! Rob and I still laugh about Lauren's "Ninja moves" of Soccer-Player and Scripture-Reader ;) (every so often Rob lets me know that he misses Brian's Elders Quorum lessons) I have a feeling this one is going into the family lingo as well.

So...What was the answer to Baker's question?
