OH, WHAT DO YOU DO IN THE SUMMERTIME?

We had a very, very busy month. Forget the lazy days of summer, it seems like we are constantly on the go. But, we are having fun spending time together and experiencing new things. Lauren has been on a TBall team and, like most things with her, sometimes she loves it and sometimes she doesn't. It is helpful that several of her friends are on the same team so she mostly goes so she can be with them.

Warming up with the team

Brian had to attend a conference in Sun Valley so we decided to go spend four days up there with him. He was in meetings a lot but we also got to play some, too. The other family from his firm was also there and our kids are the same ages, so it works out well. We rode bikes, swam in the resort pool, and ate ridiculous amounts of food.

We started off the 4th with a breakfast potluck and kid's bike parade. I think my kids had the coolest bikes there. Brian did an awesome job decorating them about 20 minutes beforehand.

We spent the afternoon at Brian's parent's house. The kids played in the pool for hours, we grilled burgers and hot dogs, and did fireworks in the street. Baker was so afraid of holding a sparkler (he calls them "sprinklers") and wouldn't come anywhere near them. Well, sure enough, we finished off the whole box and then he decides he is brave enough to hold one. When we told him they were all gone, he completely fell apart. Lauren ran into the house and got out paper and crayons and drew him a sparkler. He held it the whole way home and even slept with it last night. What a good big sister!

Waiting for fireworks in jammies and daylight
Is it possible that I have the cutest baby who ever lived? I sure think so.

I have also been asked to start blogging for our local newspaper's website. They have several blogs on politics and sports and wanted to start a "Mom Blog." I am excited to do it and only have to have one post a month, so it shouldn't be too stressful. My first one should be up later tonight or first thing tomorrow morning so please go check it out here!

A mom blog for the paper that's pretty cool! Everybody will love it I'm sure. You have a way with words. I started one for our ward. It's a place everyone can sell, give away, list good sales, babysitting, recipes, community and ward events. A little bit of everything. It's really taken off. I didn't realize you were only in the Twin Falls area. I'm in Pocatello we could actually get together some time!
