Here's how I know:
A while back, Brian asked me if I wanted to go to the Killers concert for our anniversary. I said yes. After looking online for tickets, he asked if I wanted to stand on the floor or sit in the seats.
I didn't even have to think about that one. Are the seats padded? Why yes, they are. Well then, sign me up, please.
We went to the concert tonight and a really tall guy in front of me decided to stand up. Which, of course, meant that I had to stand up. I was not happy about this. I was comfortable in my padded seat and I was wearing high-heel boots and I did not want to stand. And I may or may not have thought that just 8 floors up from the concert was my hotel room with a really soft king sized bed and a huge TV. And chocolate cake in the mini-fridge.
Does that sound like the attitude of an old person or what?
I really enjoyed the show and we had a great time and I love the Killers music, but I was standing up in uncomfortable shoes and, also, it was really loud. Like, super loud. The concert was in a pretty small arena (seats about 5000) and it was just a lot of noise in a relatively small space.
Do you understand what I am saying to you? I am saying that I thought they were playing their music too loud.
And also that I would rather be in bed, eating cake.
As if that wasn't enough, they had a lot of flashing lights on the stage. Almost like strobe lights, but not quite. I get migraines and lots of bright, rapidly flashing lights are not good for me and HOLY CRAP DID I MENTION THAT I AM OLD.
***Funny side-note: After the concert, there was a Catholic priest on our elevator and, as Brian and I were getting off on our floor, I said to the priest, "Have a good night." He nodded and admonished us to "Be good." As I walked down the hall, I thought "We are sober and married, how much trouble could we possibly get into?"
Oh yeah, and we're old, too.

Yep, we are old! I love The Killers also but thought the concert would be too loud...that's hilarious you thought the same. Fun to get out though, right? And the chocolate cake sounds like an awesome ending. Happy anniversary!
When we went to see Tim McGraw/Faith Hill we thought it was way too loud too. We actually talked about that the whole way home. Like "Do they really need it that loud?" And "Maybe next time we could bring earplugs. That would definitely help." And then we laughed because we were officially old fogies!
Stacie, you should have gone to the concert! It was so awesome, even if it was loud!
Sarah, the people sitting behind us had earplugs and the people in front of us had binoculars! We laughed so hard at that. At least we aren't as old as those people!
