SPRING BREAK: PART TWO

On Day Two of our trip, we went to Pike's Place Market in the morning and then to the Aquarium in the afternoon. It is really cool to go to an Aquarium that is actually on the water and you can walk out on the docks and look at the ocean. I wonder if the animals there ever think "Why am I stuck in this stupid tank when all my friends are out there swimming free?" Anyway, just a thought. Just a reminder: click on the pictures to make them bigger. Sorry I went so small but I didn't want these posts taking up so much space. Also, I think I forgot to take the red-eye out of these so I'm sorry about that, too.

Pike's Place
Overlooking the water. My daughter would not go near the edge of the balconey. She's a lot like her mother that way.

My kids loved this pig and the famous "Flying Fish" are in the background - even though we didn't see any that day. (The guy in the orange waders is one of the fish throwers.)

We had lunch at a really good cafe with a great view. The roof below us was covered in pigeons and, right as my husband pointed them out to my daughter, one of them jumped on top of another one and well....you know. My daughter's response? "Hmm..that was silly." Yes, yes it was.

The Aquarium
Inside a ring of jellyfish. They actually had lights inside that changed colors and looked really cool. Unfortunately, we snapped this picture between colors, so you can't see the jelly fish that well.

She loved "surfing" on the back of this killer whale. In fact, the whole orca (their politically correct name) exhibit fascinated her. She even sat and watched a documentary about them with some nerdy-looking teenage boys and their mom. It was awesome.

Touching starfish in the tide pools. My son was mesmerized by everything at the Aquarium. He loves fish tanks wherever we go, so this was like heaven to him. He just looked at everything and said, "Oh, wow" in a whispery, awed voice.

A great photo spot near the entrance. They had an awesome sea otter exhibit and we got there just in time for their feeding. It was so cool and I can't believe I didn't get a picture of it!

Okay, I hope today's was more interesting than yesterday's. I have one more batch to do tomorrow and it will be the best yet. I promise!

You are visiting one of my favorite places in the world. I am not bored. I always admire families who actually do something for spring break. Something fun. Something memorable.

Good on you!
