A BEGINNING:
May 4, 2008
7 lbs 9 oz 20 in.
This little girl decided to put me out of my pregnancy misery three weeks early and we couldn't be happier. She is loved -- LOVED -- by her brother and sister and Brian and I couldn't have asked for a sweeter baby. Lauren has taken to calling her "Cam" which no one else does so it has become her own little nickname for her baby sister. It is very cute and they can't seem to get enough of each other. Baker is always asking me where "my baby" is and how she is doing. He will sneak into my room to peak at her while she's sleeping and then come tell me that she is alright. What a good, protective big brother he is going to be.
AN ENDING:
On Saturday, Brian graduated from Law School. We cannot believe that these three years have gone by so quickly. We nicely bookended our time here with the births of two babies: Baker in our first semester and Cameron in our last. (I don't know if I would necessarily recommend that to another family, but it worked for us.) The graduation was very nice and I was very, very proud. It was tough to be there six days after giving birth for two reasons. One, I had to wear heels for several hours and two, I was a little emotional during the ceremony. Lots of thoughts and feelings. I will blame it on the hormones.

A FIRST:
Well, we finally tamed the beast! Yes, that's right, Baker had his first haircut. He sat so still and looked like such a little man, it was the cutest thing. I was afraid we would lose his baby curls, but it actually got curlier after it was cut. I am very glad about that. He looks like such a big boy now, I just have to grab him and kiss him every time he is near me. What a handsome devil!

A FIFTH:
And, finally, yesterday Lauren turned 5 years old. I can hardly believe it! I have never seen a kid so excited to be five. It was all she could talk about all day and she is still telling everyone about it today (like the cashier at Wal-Mart). Brian and I decided that five is a good age to introduce her to a Big Kid Bike. She just jumped right on that thing and took off down the sidewalk. I guess she was more than ready for it. And, it didn't take her long to say that her little friend next door could have her old tricycle since she didn't need it anymore. What a sweet kid!

So, I guess you could say it's been a crazy week for all of us. A good week, but a crazy one. I guess you could also say that, without a doubt
We are blessed.
