BEING AWESOME

Around here, things have been awesome lately. I mean that both sincerely and sarcastically.

You know, like, "Lauren and Baker have played together in the backyard for a whole hour without fighting. Awesome." (Sincere)

Or, "Baker stopped napping and peed his pants three times today. Awesome." (Sarcastic)

See how that works? Well, here are some pictures to prove my family's awesomeness in every sense of the word.

Cameron:
She naps in the swing in this position nearly every day. Sometimes, she'll stay like this for four hours. I don't know how she does it. And don't even try to put a blanket or burp cloth under her forehead for comfort. She will wake up. Believe me, I've tried.

Baker:
Well, Baker is awesome for several reasons.

1.Yesterday, I went upstairs to the play room and found this.
You should have seen my father-in-law's face when I told him about it. Now that was awesome.

2.Today, he locked himself in the bathroom and covered the whole place with stickers.

3. He has decided that he doesn't need naps anymore.

4. He also will not wear diapers except to sleep in. The awesome part is that he won't tell me if he has to go potty or not. So, if I don't force him to go about every 2 hours, I'm busting out the carpet cleaner.

5. This Superman cape hangs on his closet door. It was Brian's when he was a little boy and now it belongs to Baker. How cute is that? When Brian and I go check on him in bed at night, we have found him sound asleep with the cape on. It melts my heart every time.

Lauren:
She started Kindergarten! The first day, she loved every second and it was the greatest thing that ever happened to her. The second day, it was okay. She was happy. Yesterday, when the bell rang, her teacher brought her out to me in tears (Lauren, not the teacher). There were several traumatic experiences and she was never going back to school again. She is there (day #4) right now. I'm going to pick her up in about 10 minutes. I'll let you know how it goes.

Posing on the front porch next to my awesome new flower pot.

Showing off the new backpack.

Brian:
He's awesome because, when I was vacuuming upstairs, I looked out the window and saw this in the backyard below:
He loves his kids. And boy, oh boy, do they love him right back.

Susan:
I am awesome because, apparently, I really do sleep like a baby.
Also, I said the word 'awesome' twelve times in this post.

What makes you so awesome? (Thirteen!)

I laughed so hard when I saw the picture of Baker. Your kids are too cute! Ambree saw a little blonde boy the other day and thought it was Baker, it was so sad, but cute. Looks like you are enjoying the new house!
