This is Paco. We took the kids to the pet store today and let them pick out a fish. Our very first family pet. I think my husband and I were as excited as they were. Of course, when we walked into the store and told them that they could pick a fish, Lauren's immediate response was, "Why can't I pick a kitty? Because that's what I really want." So, it was a good surprise gone bad. She soon got over it, though and is now obsessed with Paco. We finally had to make her leave the kitchen (his new home) because she just couldn't leave him alone.
And then the fighting over who got to feed him started, ending with Baker in hysterical tears and I started to wonder what we have done to ourselves. Of course, in a few days the novelty will wear off and they will be fighting over who HAS to feed him, ending with me just doing it all the time to keep the peace.While we were debating on names (other options were Rainbow, Gil, and Tank) Baker started saying he wanted to eat Paco. He was very upset when we told him we weren't going to eat the fish. Then, I realized he was thinking of Taco. He understands now (I hope), but I still have visions of him climbing up to the counter and trying to eat Paco. I'll let you know how that works out.
So, welcome Paco to our family! Here's hoping he gets fed regularly and that our two year old doesn't eat HIM in the meantime.

I know you think it is silly to leave comments when we live next door... but I'm so excited about Paco! :) hahah How FUN!! I can't wait to meet him! Riley will be so excited, we will have to come over tonight!

I have to agree with mike and erin, Paco is cool, but Baker's hair is better.
