WHY GIRLS FROM TEXAS SHOULD STAY IN TEXAS

The university my husband attends has a policy which states that they do not cancel classes due to weather-related issues. They just let you decide if you can make it to class safely or not. Well, guess what? Today that policy changed. And here's why:

The picnic table outside of our apartment.

Our stairwell. Notice the snow stuck to the walls and stair railings and all the way to our neighbor's front door.
And, yes, this stairwell has a roof.

She actually tried to walk through this but sunk in to her waist .
Crawling across the top worked much better for her.

This is standing on the sidewalk outside my apartment, looking across the walk to the building next door.

Anyway, you get the general idea. I have never seen so much snow at one time in my life. And you know what?! It's still snowing!!!

Just so you know, right now in my Texas hometown it is sunny and pushing 80 degrees. I just wanted to point that out and let my husband know that, next time, I get to choose where we live.

Oh my goodness! We never have snow days in Provo, either, but once upon a storm ago it took me 45 minutes to drive my daughter to school and return home--and her school is not even two miles away. A school bus slid through a stop sign and almost hit us and I thought it would've been much safer to just stay home!

Did the snow hurt when it landed on you?
