Yesterday, after school, Lauren informed me that her least favorite part of Thanksgiving is the PUMPKIN PIE.

She declined to explain herself further (my questioning would have put the Spanish Inquisition to shame), but I have a feeling it's because everyone puts whipped cream on their pumpkin pie and she also does not like the WHIPPED CREAM.
It's appalling.
When Brian came home from work and I made her tell him this story, he was shocked into complete silence. I don't think we could have had a worse reaction if she was fifteen and confessing to being pregnant.
I hope she understands when she comes home this afternoon and finds all her belongings boxed up neatly in the front yard. Besides the pumpkin pie/whipped cream debacle, she is pretty cute and sweet and I'm sure one of our kind neighbors would be willing to take her in.
***Sorry for the obscure post title. I think only people in my own family will get it. And sorry to my family who will have that song stuck in their heads for the rest of the day!

I would offer to take her in, but as much as I adore your daughter, I also couldn't stand for such a thing. You've got our sympathy ... and concern.
I think she must get this from me. I am NOT a pumpkin pie lover at all. Please pass the pecan.
(For the record, I do like whip cream, but my kids don't. Tyson is equally baffled by that one.)

Sarah, Not liking whipped cream is simply outside my realm of comprehension.
So I totally have to agree with your adorable little girl. I hate with a passion Whip cream on my pies, But I do like pie. It is ok maybe she will grow out of it. RIGHT?!
OMG! Sus, it's really getting scary how alike ourkids are! Abbie HATES whipped cream or anything like it or of the same consistancy. Ex: twinkies, cupcakes, frosting,pie, pudding...I know, you're appalled. I know for a fact that she would NOT eat pumpkin pie.
